As a Principal Engineering Manager , you will lead a team of engineers, shape technical strategy and drive innovation to ensure every interaction in Microsoft Teams feels seamless, responsive, and trustworthy while fostering a culture of inclusion. Responsibilities Lead and grow a team of software engineers, providing coaching and career development. Define technical strategy and ensure timely, high‑quality delivery of features and services. Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to align priorities and execution. Champion engineering, reliability, and security. Foster an inclusive team culture that values diversity and psychological safety. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience. 2+ years of management experience in software engineering. Other Requirements Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred Qualifications Solid technical background in large‑scale full‑stack applications. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Experience with React, Typescript/Javascript, FluentUI. Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $142,400 - CAD $257,500 per year.
