Your opportunity: Under the direction of the Associate Director, Multi-Faith Centre, and working with other members of the Multi-Faith Centre team, the Student Life Coordinator Mindfulness, Wellbeing and Contemplative Practice is responsible for integrating meaning-making, purpose, identity and spiritual wellbeing into wellness and contemplative programs to support holistic student development, as it intersects with culture, and diverse worldviews; developing curricular and co-curricular opportunities that explore eco-spirituality, land-based reflection, and Indigenous-informed approaches aligned with Truth & Reconciliation commitments; designing and facilitating grief-informed programming that incorporates contemplative and embodied movement practices to support emotional processing and holistic wellbeing; fostering collaborative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts, including faculties and campus units to integrate contemplative, holistic and intersectional approaches into student wellbeing and self-discovery initiatives, in and out of the classroom; offering guidance to students exploring questions of identity, purpose, values and meaning, and connecting them to appropriate spiritual, reflective or personal development resources; and highlighting opportunities for students to engage in purpose-driven, reflective, and values-based programming across the Multi-Faith Centre. The Student Life Coordinator Mindfulness, Wellbeing and Contemplative Practice collaborates with the academic and co-curricular divisions of the University and with student organizations to ensure quality programming. Working with other Student Life staff, the incumbent ensures that all students involved have appropriate opportunities for skill building, dialogue, reflection and integration of learning. The Coordinator works actively to promote a culture of inclusion that includes religious pluralism at the University, devising programs that reflect the University’s values of respect for cultural difference, and inclusion of diverse views. Your responsibilities will include: Planning and implementing components of curricular and/or co-curricular programs and activities Planning and overseeing the implementation of an evaluation framework for programs and initiatives Facilitating educational workshops and seminars Interpreting and applying policies and procedures when making independent decisions Developing strategies that maximize outreach to students Providing basic support and general referrals to individuals in distress Monitoring accounts for a project and/or program Serving as a resource to others by providing (non-supervisory) job-related guidance Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum four years related experience in program development and delivery, in an interfaith or combination of interfaith and university settings. Formal training and/or education in yoga and meditation, and at least one of the following areas: student development, student leadership development, higher education, Student Affairs, and adult education. Experience in university student volunteer recruitment, coordination and orientation. Event management; program planning, implementation and evaluation; student leadership and student organization development experience. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, effective problem solving skills. Good communication, presentation, facilitation, training, interpersonal, and troubleshooting skills. Working knowledge of student development and other related theories. Familiar with interfaith and spirituality practices, including but not limited to discussions across difference, reflection and assessment. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity.
