Since 2004, the Knowledge Institute on Child and Youth Mental Health and Addictions has supported Ontario child and youth mental health agencies, communities, and decision makers to help young people in our province develop in ways that expand their future opportunities and ensure lifelong mental health.

Reporting to the VP, Integrated Mental Health and Addictions, the Executive Director has ultimate responsibility for the successful leadership and management of the Knowledge Institute on Child and Youth Mental Health and Addictions.

In partnership with key provincial and community stakeholders, the Executive Director will develop a vision and strategic plan for the Knowledge Institute. They will lead and partner with key staff in implementing the strategic plan. They will collaborate with senior leadership to create operational plans and related programs/services to achieve the strategic goals of the Knowledge Institute, ensuring they meet the expectations of partners and funders efficiently and effectively. The Executive Director will ensure financial accountability for the Knowledge Institute and will oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Knowledge Institute’s programs, services, and special projects. They will monitor the day-to-day delivery of the programs and services of the Knowledge Institute to ensure quality is maintained or improved. The Executive Director will liaise with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, and other Ministries as required. As well, there is important collaboration with CHEO’s finance department to secure adequate funding for the ongoing operation of the organization. They will communicate with CHEO internal and provincial external partners to keep them informed of the work of the Knowledge Institute and to identify changes in partners needs across the province.

As the ideal candidate, you possess a minimum of 10 years formal leadership experience gained in a complex environment, and bring a proven ability to implement large-scale strategic initiatives, lead program development, facilitate systemic change, and support the growth of teams. You have your Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, as well as knowledge of health care delivery systems, in particular child and youth mental health. The Executive Director will need financial planning and management experience, as they will be accountable for the development of a comprehensive budget, including the use of sound bookkeeping and accounting procedures.

Depuis 2004, l’Institut du savoir sur la santé mentale et les dépendances chez les enfants et les jeunes soutient les organismes de santé mentale des enfants et des jeunes, les communautés et les décisionnaires de l’Ontario, afin d’aider les jeunes de notre province à s’épanouir de manière à élargir leurs perspectives d’avenir et à assurer tout au long de leur vie une bonne santé mentale.

Relevant de la vice-présidente, Soins intégrés de santé mentale et de toxicomanie, la directrice générale ou le directeur général est responsable en dernier ressort de la direction et de la gestion de l’Institut du savoir sur la santé mentale et les dépendances chez les enfants et les jeunes.

En partenariat avec les principales parties prenantes de la province et de la communauté, la personne à ce poste élaborera une vision et un plan stratégique pour l’Institut du savoir. Elle dirigera le personnel principal et travaillera en partenariat avec lui à la mise en œuvre du plan stratégique. Elle collaborera avec la haute direction pour créer des plans opérationnels et des programmes et services connexes afin d’atteindre les objectifs stratégiques de l’Institut du savoir, en veillant à ce qu’ils répondent aux attentes des partenaires et des bailleurs de fonds de façon efficace et efficiente. La personne titulaire de ce poste assurera la responsabilité financière de l’Institut du savoir et supervisera la planification, la mise en œuvre et l’évaluation des programmes, des services et des projets spéciaux de celui-ci. Elle surveillera la mise en œuvre quotidienne des programmes et des services de l’Institut du savoir, afin d’assurer le maintien ou l’amélioration de la qualité, et assurera la liaison avec le ministère de la Santé, le ministère de l’Éducation et d’autres ministères, au besoin. De plus, elle entretiendra une collaboration importante avec le service des finances du CHEO afin d’assurer un financement adéquat pour le fonctionnement continu de l’organisme. La ou le titulaire communiquera avec les partenaires internes et externes du CHEO afin de les tenir au courant du travail réalisé par l’Institut du savoir et de cerner les changements dans les besoins des partenaires dans l’ensemble de la province.

Comme personne idéale pour ce poste, vous devez avoir au moins dix ans d’expérience officielle en leadership acquise dans un environnement complexe et une capacité éprouvée à mettre en œuvre des initiatives stratégiques à grande échelle, à diriger l’élaboration de programmes, à faciliter le changement systémique et à soutenir la croissance des équipes. Vous êtes titulaire d’une maîtrise dans un domaine pertinent et avez une connaissance des systèmes de prestation de soins de santé, en particulier dans le domaine de la santé mentale des enfants et des jeunes. Vous devrez avoir une expérience de la planification et de la gestion financières, car vous serez responsable de l’élaboration d’un budget complet, dont l’utilisation de méthodes comptables et de tenue des livres rigoureuses.
