Red Seal Automotive Technician - Transmission Specialist at AutoCanada Location: Calgary, AB | Classification: Full‑Time, Immediate Hire | Salary: Flat Rate to be discussed. Responsibilities Perform vehicle repairs and/or maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy. Communicate regularly with Parts and Service Advisors to manage production/repairs, cycle times and customer communication. Conduct multi‑point inspections, provide appropriate repair recommendations, and ensure safety and reliability of each vehicle before return. Document all work performed on the vehicle repair order by creating a detailed story consistent with OEM standards; ensure warranty work is paid by the manufacturer. Maintain an inventory of common automotive technician tools not normally inventoried by the Service department. Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins and participate in factory‑sponsored training classes as required. Provide an exceptional repair experience to drive customer loyalty and departmental revenue. Qualifications Previous experience working in a dealership. Specialist in transmission breakdown and complete overhaul. Strong knowledge of various makes and models. Provinially recognized Journeyman Automotive Mechanic Certificate, completed or in process. Red Seal Certification considered an asset. Completion of a related post‑secondary program or training courses. Professional demeanor and strong work ethic. Excellent communication, problem‑solving and organizational skills. Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment. Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
