Brian Heath, a 3-time founder with multiple successful exits and 13 patents to his name, brings deep expertise in building products that scale. Rob Fraser, our technical leader, brings 26 years of hands-on development experience and over a decade of engineering leadership. Our next endeavour is still in stealth mode and is a well-funded startup on a mission to stop financial fraud using AI. We’ve validated strong market demand and developed a working proof of concept. Now, we’re adding to our core team of 6 to go to market. We’re currently remote-first but meet once a week in person to move fast and stay aligned, building tight Canadian hubs in Vancouver and Edmonton. We’re AI-native to the core, and we want teammates who bring curiosity, horsepower, and that “just hand it to me, I’ll figure it out” energy. Titles matter less than impact. Everyone talks, everyone is learning, everyone ships. About the role We’re building an AI-native company and seeking a fearless mobile developer and AI enthusiast to join our core team. You’ll take our existing proof-of-concept softphone app and transform it into a production-ready, scalable, high-performance mobile product. This role is about building the foundation of something entirely new, leveraging AI tools to move faster, iterate smarter, and ship better code. What You’ll Do Leverage tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Gemini to automate repetitive tasks, accelerate iteration, and explore new SDK capabilities. Take ownership of the current POC, strengthen the codebase, and evolve it into a stable, maintainable production app. Implement and optimize Swift code for essential softphone features, calling (SIP/WebRTC), messaging, contacts, and call history. Transform experimental code into a robust, scalable architecture using modern frameworks (SwiftUI, Combine, MVVM). Write unit and UI tests (manual + AI-assisted). Use Xcode Instruments and performance profiling to ensure stability and responsiveness. Work closely with a small, fast-moving team to shape product direction, review AI-generated code, and refine our development practices. What We’re Looking For 2-4 years of professional native mobile development experience Proficiency in both Android (Kotlin/Java) and iOS (Swift/Objective-C) development with published apps or significant Swift projects Experience building and shipping applications to both Google Play and App Store Understanding of mobile architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture) Skilled in using Xcode Instruments for debugging and performance optimization Understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, and ideally VoIP protocols (SIP/WebRTC) Familiarity with platform-specific frameworks: Android SDK, Jetpack components, iOS SDK, UIKit, Core Data, Core Animation, Core Graphics, and GCD Experience with RESTful API integration and authentication flows Knowledge of Material Design and Human Interface Guidelines Ability to work across cross-functional teams (design, QA, product) Self-directed work style with the ability to thrive in remote environments Passion for integrating AI tools into your workflow and validating their outputs for quality, security, and performance Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Software Architecture preferred (candidates with substantial relevant industry experience are encouraged to apply) Why Join Us Work on a first-of-its-kind AI-native mission-based company and help define a new product category Join a small, focused team where your work directly shapes product direction and architecture Embrace cutting-edge AI tools that amplify your creativity and accelerate development Big vision, small team, your contributions directly influence how users experience a next generation application.
