Our client, the College of Carpenters and Allied Trades, CCAT, delivers Construction skills courses under site simulated conditions in its state-of-the-art facilities. Students work on full scale construction projects. Real world learning equips students with the knowledge and skills they need to work safety and productively for their Union Contractors.


Overview:

CCAT College is seeking a reliable and organized Data Entry/Office Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong computer, communication, and organizational skills to manage various administrative tasks, including running orientation, filing paperwork, handling contracts, entering course data, managing grant work, and supporting the accountant. This role will be full-time work from office.


Overview:

CCAT College is seeking a professional and approachable Student Service Liaison/Apprentice Liaison to create positive relationships with students, similar to a guidance counsellor. The ideal candidate will be unbiased, capable of tracking relevant data, and adept at connecting with employers and business representatives. This role is vital in supporting the holistic development of our apprentices and ensuring their professional and personal growth.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Build and maintain positive relationships with students/apprentices, acting as a mentor and provide guidance.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to track and analyze relevant data related to student progress, industry needs, and professional development.
  3. Connect with employers and business representatives to create opportunities for apprentices and stay updated on industry trends.
  4. Identify areas where professional development is lacking and collaborate with stakeholders to address these needs.
  5. Network within the industry to foster relationships that benefit the students and the college.
  6. Provide transparent, professional, and supportive services to students.
  7. Help students grow holistically, focusing on both personal and professional development.
  8. Be readily available to assist students with their needs and concerns.
  9. Ensure an unbiased and non-industry-specific approach to student guidance.
  10. Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress.


Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in a guidance or counselling role, preferably in an educational setting.
  3. Strong data tracking and analysis skills.
  4. Excellent communication and networking abilities.
  5. Professional and supportive demeanor with a focus on student growth.
  6. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  7. Familiarity with the apprenticeship system and industry needs is a plus but not required.


Preferred Attributes:

  1. Experience working with apprentices or in a vocational training environment.
  2. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
  3. Proactive, compassionate, and ready to assist with a wide range of student needs, offering support with empathy and transparency.
  4. Approachable and trustworthy, creating a safe space for students to seek guidance.


Working Conditions:

This full-time opportunity requires someone who is always available to support students and apprentices. We seek a compassionate individual with a passion for helping students in need.
