When it comes to underwriting insurance products for well‑known famous sports venues, sports/entertainment facilities, major airlines, retail/wholesale companies, banks and manufacturers, we do it all The Impact You Will Have As a Senior Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our Property Line of Business by underwriting profitable new and renewal business. Your expertise will ensure we meet our targets while adhering to underwriting guidelines and authority. You will be instrumental in negotiating price, terms, and conditions, and maintaining ownership of key accounts and clients. Your ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with producers and clients will be pivotal in partnership with Market Management, contributing to our overall business growth and sustainability. Some of Your Specific Responsibilities Could Include Underwrite Profitable Business: evaluate new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom‑line targets. Proactively manage capacity and assess Natural Catastrophe Accumulation, ensuring a robust understanding of catastrophe modeling and interpretation of scenarios for relevant lines of business. Underwriting Approach and Compliance: ensure underwriting aligns with governance frameworks, including Underwriting Authorities, Underwriting Guidelines, Rules, and Principles. Achieve contract certainty at inception and utilize global pricing tools effectively. Policy Documentation and Administration: ensure accurate policy documentation is issued and maintained. Support policy administration and credit control processes proactively. Market Management: support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business through client and producer negotiations. Liaise with Distribution on market management initiatives. Relationship Management: represent Allianz Commercial positively in the market. Drive involvement of functional areas in the underwriting process and develop strong relationships with key producers, clients, and stakeholders. What You’ll Bring To The Role Technical Expertise: proven track record in underwriting profitable business within Property, with a robust understanding of products and portfolios. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience. Risk Assessment and Management: ability to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazards relevant to Property. Portfolio Management: experience in managing underwriting books, analyzing trends, and developing portfolio strategies. Pricing and Market Insight: ability to analyze performance against benchmarks and ensure satisfactory progress. Understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks. General Skills: strong analytical skills, communication, and presentation abilities. Proficiency in IT skills, particularly in Office applications. Influencing skills to motivate others without executive authority. Education and Certifications: preferably a degree in Economics, Finance, Insurance Management, or Business Administration. Progress towards professional insurance qualifications (e.g., CIP). Language Skills: proficiency in English. French desirable as well.
