Junior Gameplay Animator

Nomad's Way Game Studio is looking for a talented Junior Gameplay Animator to join our team for an exciting survival game project. This role is perfect for someone passionate about animation, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to creating engaging in-game animations for characters and environments. You will work under the guidance of senior team members to develop animations that enhance gameplay and elevate the player experience. Junior Gameplay Animator Key Responsibilities: Assist in Creating Animations: Support the development of animations for characters, environments, and other game elements, following design and technical specifications set by senior animators. Learn Optimization Techniques: Assist in optimizing animation assets to ensure smooth performance and technical quality, under the guidance of experienced team members. Follow Best Practices: Learn and apply animation best practices to create maintainable and efficient animation systems while gaining familiarity with technical standards. Support Documentation: Contribute to design documentation by taking notes and clarifying animation requirements as directed by senior team members. Provide Task Updates: Regularly report progress on assigned tasks to managers and senior animators, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines. Assist in Problem-Solving: Help identify animation issues during development and collaborate with team members to propose basic solutions. Stay Eager to Learn: Keep up with industry trends, new animation tools, and techniques, and incorporate new knowledge into your work with guidance from senior animators. Required Experience and Skills: Experience with industry-standard animation software (e.g., Maya, Blender) with a strong understanding of animation principles. Skilled in creating realistic and stylized animations for characters and environments. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with all team members. Strong organizational and prioritization abilities. Exceptional attention to detail and artistic skills. Experience with Unreal Engine. Knowledge of technical considerations and best practices for animation in online games. Experience in animating for PVE, open-world, co-op, and survival genres. Preferred Qualifications: 1 year of professional game development experience, specifically in having shipped titles with AAA quality art, animation and gameplay. Familiarity with motion capture and its integration into animation workflows. Experience in designing and implementing various animation systems (e.g., character rigs, procedural animation). Understanding of game mechanics and design principles related to animation.
