The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in business growth, client relationship management. This position is based out of North Vancouver, BC and is responsible for driving business expansion, overseeing financial and operational performance, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture. Responsibilities: The Director, Quality & Inspections will provide strategic leadership and oversight for Maven’s Quality & Inspections Business Unit. Working closely with the Team Managers, Supervisors, Inspectors, and internal functional leads, this role drives operational excellence, client satisfaction, profitability, and business growth. The Director is responsible for the overall performance, quality, and safety of civil, electrical, and welding inspection services for our power utility and municipal client base while ensuring achievement of Maven’s strategic objectives. The core responsibilities include: Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Quality & Inspections Business Unit. Develop and implement business unit growth strategies and operational improvement initiatives. Oversee client relationships, pricing negotiations, and contract performance to ensure service excellence and compliance. Lead business development efforts including proposal responses, RFP participation, and expansion of services in existing and new markets. Manage financial performance, forecasts, and staffing plans to ensure business unit targets are met. Oversee hiring, onboarding, performance management, and professional development in collaboration with the Team Supervisor and HR. Champion a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all inspection operations. Provide visible leadership that promotes collaboration, accountability, and engagement within the team. Ensure effective communication and alignment between the inspections team, project delivery teams, and corporate operations. Who we are looking for: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field. A Business or Management Diploma or greater would be an asset. Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in utility infrastructure or construction projects, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing client-facing service operations. Strong understanding of construction inspection, quality assurance, and safety management within infrastructure or utility projects. Demonstrated success in business development, contract management, and financial performance oversight. Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills in English. Proficient in MS Office applications and familiar with project or time-tracking systems. Based in the Lower Mainland, with the ability to work from the North Vancouver office at least 3 days per week. Compensation: Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate including skillset, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. The salary range for this role is from $130,000 – $175,000 per year. This position is also eligible for our discretionary quarterly bonus program, which is based on overall company performance.
