Position Overview

The Senior Website Development Manager / Lead Full Stack Developer owns the technical architecture, development, performance, and evolution of Basecamp's digital experience platform, supporting a portfolio of 10+ websites across hospitality, investment, and real estate brands.

This is a senior, hands-on technical role combining full-stack development, platform architecture, technical leadership, and digital experience expertise, with a strong focus on continuously improving user experience and delivering intuitive, mobile-first digital experiences. Working closely with creative agencies, vendors, Marketing, IT, and internal stakeholders, this role translates approved wireframes, designs, user needs, and business requirements into scalable, high-performing websites that are easy to navigate, accessible, and optimized across devices. This role is responsible for leading and mentoring at least one direct report.

Beyond individual website development, this role will establish the technical foundation for Basecamp's growing digital ecosystem. This includes shared architecture, scalable design systems, reusable components, form standards, data integrations, APIs, development standards, governance, and deployment practices that improve consistency, accessibility, maintainability, and future scalability.

A key measure of success will be creating a sustainable platform that enables Marketing and other teams to publish content, build pages, manage forms, and launch future properties and brands more quickly and consistently. The role will establish standards and reusable solutions that reduce development effort, simplify ongoing website management, and create a technical foundation that can scale with the organization.

Salary: $90,000–$120,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

Digital Experience Platform & Architecture

  • Own the architecture, technical standards, and ongoing evolution of Basecamp's digital experience platform across all brands and websites.
  • Build and maintain WordPress and Elementor websites from approved wireframes, creative concepts, designs, and business requirements.
  • Develop and govern a scalable design system and library of reusable components, templates, modules, and development patterns that support consistency and efficient future website launches.
  • Extend design system standards, reusable components, and user experience patterns beyond websites where appropriate, including booking engines, email templates, CRM journeys, marketing automation, guest communications, and other guest-facing digital experiences.
  • Create CMS structures and publishing standards that enable Marketing and content teams to efficiently create pages, manage content, and launch new digital experiences.
  • Establish and maintain content governance, publishing workflows, approval processes, and content quality standards across all websites and brands. Establish standards for UI/UX implementation, responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), forms, content, third-party components, scripts, and integrations.
  • Evaluate CMS, headless, composable, and emerging web technologies and recommend architecture and platform improvements as the organization grows.
  • Create a scalable technical foundation that enables future properties, brands, and websites to launch efficiently using reusable architecture, templates, and components.
