Tooled truck supplied. Travel: Per Diem & accommodations provided. Wage $56.73-$63.03 (wage + RWA). $2.25 Field Premium. $3.50 Shift Premium. Shift: 7x7 Continuous shift. As a Gas Compression Tech, you'll put your skills into action by partnering directly with customers to keep their operations running at peak performance. You'll troubleshoot and oversee repairs on a wide range of Caterpillar gas and diesel engines - both in the shop and out in the field - leveraging your technical knowledge to build trust, solve challenges, and deliver the reliability our customers depend on. Your work will include:
Field diagnosis and running repairs. Large-scale overhauls and rebuilds. Component replacements. Completing required paperwork and maintaining clear customer communication. Qualifications:
Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification (Millwright and Automotive also accepted). Valid class 5 driver's license with a successful drivers abstract required for field positions. Minimum 2 years experience as a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification. 2 years experience on gas engines and compressors. 2 years experience operating a service truck. Previous CAT general line experience including troubleshooting skills and a good understanding of CAT engine and powertrain components. Completion, or in the process of completing Finning S-level courses. Team player will have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills. Important Details:
This position is based out of Calgary, Edmonton or Red Deer on a 7x7 shift. Must be able and willing to travel to and from customer sites across our territory. A condition of employment may include the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable.
