As a full-time Fire Technician, you will help maintain fire weather databases, develop fuel management plans, and collaborate on GIS mapping projects. A strong background in environmental and natural sciences is essential, along with hands-on experience in active management and field research. Your expertise will contribute significantly to effective fire management initiatives.
Key Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain technical databases for fire management • Support GIS and produce mapping products • Create fuel management plans and environmental assessments • Act as a field unit fire duty officer on rotation • Analyze data using various software and methods
Requirements: • Completion of a B.Sc. in a related field • CIFFC Advanced Wildland Fire Behaviour course certification • Experience with active management projects • Valid class 5 driving license • Knowledge of fire suppression activities
