Job Details
As a software engineer you will be building technology solutions that increase automation, increase insight and AI driven outcomes, increase usability, and improve marketing's ability to deliver new advice, promotions, and offers to our customers through all channels. You'll be passionate about understanding how TD creates secure systems that empower our business partners using agile methods, code management tools, automated testing, and deployment pipelines. Whether you're defining data models and flows, creating a new user interface or back end automation with an AI code assistant, or resolving an issue by looking at monitoring and logging tools and performing root cause analysis, you'll help us build a more secure, resilient, user friendly, and capable set of tools that helps TD and our marketing business have more meaningful interactions with our customers.
As a valued member of our Software Engineering team, you will:
- Be a team player: consistently sharing ideas, providing feedback, listening to suggestions, and raising your hand to take on challenges.
- Solve problems efficiently: take a scientific approach to analyzing problems through collection of data, proposing solutions, testing, tuning your approach based on data and feedback, and sharing your approach and ideas with the team.
- Analyze data and follow / build standards: find the common elements between data and the way many processes work to create simplified and more supportable processes and data models that enable greater flexibility.
- Never stop learning: actively participate in ongoing training and coaching support as well as technology proof-of-concepts to help you continue to grow and develop in your role.
Our team, and specifically this role, is for someone comfortable working from downtown Toronto almost exclusively. Tools will be provided to make working from home possible, but achieving 80% in office attendance is expected. This allows our team to huddle in a room and brainstorm on the whiteboard, to overhear what other teams are doing leading to finding common approaches and reducing wasted effort, and to socialize and build stronger relationships within the pod and beyond. The hiring manager will provide more information about how this works for their team.
