Support McMaster University students as a Writing Advisor, enhancing their academic writing through personalized sessions and group workshops within the Student Success Centre.
The SSC is actively seeking passionate writing advisors to aid student development in writing skills. This role includes providing one-on-one guidance, leading workshops on writing strategies, and contributing to instructional material creation. Your contribution will directly impact students' academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities: • Deliver individualized writing support through direct appointments • Facilitate small-group learning environments for writing development • Lead engaging workshops and presentations on writing skills • Document student interactions and learning activities efficiently • Assist in creating and reviewing instructional materials
Requirements: • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline • Experience in research/writing settings is advantageous • Preference for PhD students and those with teaching assistant experience • Must support students across various academic levels • Familiarity with the writing process is essential
