Internship Details: This internship/co-op opportunity is based in Toronto, Ontario and follows a hybrid work model. Candidates should be able to work from our downtown Toronto office 1–2 days per week, depending on team and business needs.
We are considering students available for internship/co-op terms ranging from 8 to 16 months beginning in May/June 2027Role Overview:Help build the next generation of web experiences and backend services that support more than 70 billion customer interactions across over 100 countries each year. As a Software Developer Intern, you will contribute production-quality code using modern frontend technologies, cloud services, and AI-enabled platforms while learning alongside experienced developers. You will work across the software development lifecycle, gaining practical exposure to scalable web applications, backend services, automated testing, and AWS technologies. At Genesys, your work will help organizations deliver more connected and effective customer experiences while expanding your skills through hands-on engineering, peer collaboration, and exposure to enterprise-scale initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Develop production-quality, responsive web applications and backend services that improve the usability, performance, and scalability of Genesys productsContribute to next-generation Web UIs using modern JavaScript and TypeScript technologies, including Vue.jsImplement product enhancements and resolve software defects while maintaining code quality, reliability, and maintainabilityBuild unit tests and automation that strengthen software quality and support efficient development and release processesCollaborate with experienced developers through code reviews, technical discussions, and agile development practicesApply AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, and SQS to support scalable cloud-based applicationsImprove engineering practices by contributing ideas, learning from peer feedback, and participating in continuous improvementExpand technical capabilities through hands-on experience with enterprise-scale cloud applications and modern software development practicesRequired

Qualifications:
Current enrolment in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related disciplineKnowledge of developing responsive, single-page web applications using modern JavaScript libraries or frameworksFamiliarity with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, or TypeScriptKnowledge of cloud computing concepts and AWS technologiesUnderstanding of software development fundamentals, including testing, debugging, version control, and code qualityStrong communication and collaboration skillsAbility to contribute effectively within an agile software development teamPreferred

Qualifications:
Experience with Vue.js, Knockout, or similar frontend frameworksFamiliarity with Java, Clojure, LESS, Mocha, Chai, or WebpackExposure to AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, or SQSFamiliarity with development and continuous integration tools such as GitHub, Bitbucket, or Jenkins#LI-DNI#LI-DNPCompensation:This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location.
