Reporting to the Team Lead, Service Desk, the Audio-Visual & IT Services Specialist is responsible for delivering a high-quality client experience through the operation, support, and continuous improvement of Audio‑Visual (AV) technologies across onsite and hybrid environments. The role prioritises AV service delivery for meetings, events, and conferencing solutions while also providing Service Desk support to ensure reliable IT operations. This position is full‑time onsite at the Royal College Assessment Centre, ensuring hands‑on support for all AV systems and event delivery requirements. The role will also provide support at the Royal College main offices, as required, to support broader organisational needs.

Lead the delivery of high‑quality, client‑centric AV services for complex onsite and hybrid events within the Assessment Centre.

Act as a trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders by interpreting event requirements, designing fit‑for‑purpose AV solutions, and recommending optimal technologies and configurations.

Drive consistency, quality, and professionalism across all engagements, ensuring a world‑class participant experience while balancing operational constraints, risk, and technical feasibility.

Oversee and execute the end‑to‑end lifecycle of AV services, including setup, configuration, testing, live operation, and dismantling of equipment.

Provide advanced technical expertise across microphones, cameras, audio systems, codecs, and integrated AV infrastructures.

Ensure adherence to quality standards through proactive diagnostics, structured testing practices, and real‑time adjustments during events.

Act as the senior technical authority onsite, ensuring all systems perform reliably in high‑stakes environments.

Deliver responsive and effective technical support across AV and IT domains, resolving hardware, software, and network issues through multiple service channels.

Act as an escalation point for complex or recurring issues, ensuring root cause identification and collaboration with specialised teams for permanent resolution.

Support the lifecycle management of end‑user technologies, including procurement, configuration, deployment, and asset tracking, ensuring compliance with enterprise standards and audit requirements.

Does this sound like you

Level of education, training and/or experience equivalent to a college diploma in Visual Production, multimedia operations, digital event management and/or IT technical support.

3 years of technical experience and operational knowledge of AV technologies supporting a broad range of live events, meetings, formal committees, and conferences, complemented by hands‑on Service Desk experience providing first‑line technical support, troubleshooting incidents, managing service requests, and ensuring timely resolution in accordance with IT service management best practices.

Preferred experience and knowledge of programming and supporting advanced control and integration systems such as Crestron, Extron, QSC, etc., with a primary focus on AV support across a wide range of environments. Complemented by foundational IT knowledge including Microsoft 365 (Teams, Exchange, user support), endpoint/device troubleshooting, and hardware/software diagnostics aligned with CompTIA A+ standards.

Relevant Microsoft 365, collaboration technology, or audiovisual (AV) certifications, or equivalent experience managing Microsoft Teams Rooms, hybrid meeting platforms, and integrated AV environments.

Position is full‑time onsite at the Royal College Assessment Centre with occasional travel to Echo Drive, requiring daily physical presence. There will be occasional overtime work requirement.
