Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board invites applications for the position of:

EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANT: CLASSROOM ASSISTANT/PHYSICAL CARE Our Lady of Sorrows School 1.0 FTE Permanent

Effective September 4, 2026

Mandatory Requirements:

Two-year post-secondary diploma in a relevant field such as Developmental Service Worker, Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education, or Practical Nursing (formerly RNA diploma).

Experience working with students with multiple needs including physical needs, Autism, developmental delays, behavior, and anger management needs.

Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience working with children with behavior exceptionalities.

Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.

Working knowledge and experience of behavior modification strategies.

Knowledge of augmentative communication strategies.

Experience using technology and digital tools and resources that support the remote learning environment (e.g., Google Classroom, Google Meet)

Excellent interpersonal skills; and

Good written and oral communication skills.

Regular access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license.

Preferred Requirements:

Non-violent crisis intervention training would be an asset

French language skills would be considered an asset

First Aid training

Additional Posting Information: Current compensation, in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
