Role and Accountabilities:As a Registered Early Childhood Educator, here are some of the accountabilities attached to this role.
Plan and lead interest-based and play-based activities that reflect children’s unique interests to promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
Maintain active supervision with children while still being engaged in play.
Document children’s learning progress through observation, reflection, and research questions.
Create and maintain an environment that protects the health, safety, and well-being of children.
Assist the children with diapering, dressing, and eating habits.
Foster strong relationships with families and involve them in the learning process.
Collaborate with coworkers, families, and community partners to create a supportive environment.
Participate in team meetings, professional learning opportunities, and staff training opportunities.
Assist in housekeeping duties within the program.
Follow CELC, CCEYA, and Ministry of Education policies and procedures.
This position will work in a kindergarten or school-age classroom in a split-shift role and full-day shifts during March break, Winter break, PA Days, and Summer Programming. Hours will be based on program needs and funding. Shift start and end times will fluctuate within the team and will fall within the program hours of 7 am to 9 am and 3 pm to 6 pm, with some additional hours during the split period.

Required:1-3 years’ experience working with children and youth.
Familiarity with the Child Care Early Years Act and licensing standards.
