Syngenta Canada is offering a Crop Protection Development Assistant Internship in Red Deer, AB. This position allows you to gain practical experience while contributing to impactful agriculture projects and improvements for farmers.
As an intern in the R&D department, you will work on a small-plot research program focusing on crops such as canola and pulse crops. This role provides hands-on training in agronomy, pest management, and data collection, essential for successful crop protection and product development.
Key Responsibilities: • Engage in identifying crop staging and pest management • Operate small tractors and agricultural equipment efficiently • Begin trials for innovative products under development • Adhere to protocols during data collection processes • Maintain research sites and monitor ongoing activities
Requirements: • Enrolled in post-secondary education, preferably in Agriculture • Minimum Class 5 driver's license • Comfortable lifting up to 20 lbs and working outdoors • Familiarity with farm operations is a plus • Strong willingness to learn and develop skills
