Nipissing University seeks a full-time Biidaaban Community Service-Learning Officer to lead community engagement and experiential learning initiatives. Bring your expertise in Indigenous relations and education to foster student success.
As a key member of the Office of Indigenous Initiatives, you will oversee the Biidaaban Community Service-Learning program. Your role involves developing partnerships, managing operations, and creating culturally relevant experiences that honor Indigenous knowledge. Engage with local First Nation, Métis, and Inuit communities to ensure a meaningful contribution to student and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities: • Lead the planning and implementation of the BCSL program • Develop respectful relationships with Indigenous communities • Manage student recruitment and support services • Oversee budget management and program evaluation • Supervise Indigenous Student Engagement Coordinator
Requirements: • Undergraduate degree in human-services discipline • Minimum 3 years experience in community engagement • Understanding of Indigenous histories and cultures • Experience with educational and youth programs • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
