Lloydminster, Alberta, Canada Oil Authority Full-time

Worker Type: EmployeeJob Post End Date: 09/18/2026

About this opportunity:

The Document Control Analyst provides analytical oversight of engineering drawings and technical records for the Lloydminster Upgrader, ensuring compliance with document management standards, revision control, metadata requirements, and records governance. The role monitors document workflows, analyzes data quality and performance trends, identifies risks and process gaps, and delivers reporting to support operational decision-making. The Analyst independently reviews complex or non-standard submissions, determines appropriate corrective actions, and recommends improvements to processes and systems. Success in the role is measured through strong technical record integrity, compliance, process efficiency, and the delivery of reliable reporting, rather than routine clerical filing or basic data entry.

Work Environment:

  • This position is located in Lloydminster and requires the successful candidate to live in the area

What you’ll do:

  • Analyze document control workflows, system data, and performance metrics to identify compliance gaps, trends, bottlenecks, backlogs, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain KPI dashboards, metrics, and reporting related to document quality, revision status, turnaround times, contractor performance, MOC closeout, and records completeness.
  • Monitor compliance with document control, drafting, metadata, retention, and engineering records requirements; investigate issues, determine root causes, and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Review and validate complex engineering drawings, technical documents, and contractor deliverables for accuracy, completeness, traceability, and compliance before acceptance into official records.
  • Assess the impact of engineering changes on controlled records and ensure MOC and project deliverables are accurately incorporated and maintained.
  • Recommend, design, test, and implement process, procedure, and system improvements in collaboration with stakeholders, including Corporate Data and Information Management teams.
  • Maintain document control standards, work practices, data quality controls, and records governance requirements while providing functional guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct trend and risk analysis, resolve complex document and data issues, support audit and regulatory compliance activities, and elevate material risks as appropriate.

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Records Management, Business Administration, Engineering Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in technical document control, engineering information management, records governance, process analysis, or a related technical environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze workflows and data, develop metrics and reporting, monitor compliance, identify root causes, and implement process improvements.
  • Experience reviewing engineering drawings, technical documentation, and contractor deliverables within industrial, refining, or oil and gas environments.
  • Strong knowledge of document control principles, including metadata management, revision control, records retention, MOC processes, audit requirements, and engineering records governance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Excel, document management systems, and databases; experience with SharePoint, SAP, OpenText, and CAD software for drawing review and quality assurance is considered an asset.

We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.
