This staffing process aims to fill the position of Director, Operational Engineering Assessment Division and to establish a pool of qualified candidates for future staffing needs within the Directorate of Assessment and Analysis (DAA).

The pool resulting from this process may also be used to staff similar positions within the CNSC with similar qualifications and various tenures including term, acting, assignment and indeterminate.

What you’ll do

As the Director, Operational Engineering Assessment Division, you will report to the Director General, Directorate of Assessment and Analysis, and provide strategic leadership and oversight for the evaluation of engineering and operational safety at regulated nuclear facilities and other regulated facilities. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of technical specialists to assess facility systems, design modifications, and operational performance against regulatory requirements, ensuring the continued protection of health, safety, security, and the environment.

As the director of OEAD, you will also :

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of technical specialists to assess fitness for service of reactors' major components/systems against regulatory requirements, ensuring continued safe operation of operating reactors and assessing fitness for service programs for proposed new builds in a manner that protects the health and safety of workers and the public.
