The Pharmacy Assistant is a full-time, on-site role located in Iron Gates, MO. In this role, the Pharmacy Assistant supports pharmacy operations by preparing, packaging, and organizing prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Responsibilities include assisting customers at the pharmacy counter, answering questions within scope, managing phone inquiries, and directing complex concerns to the pharmacist. The Pharmacy Assistant helps maintain accurate patient records, processes insurance claims, and ensures proper handling and storage of medications. Additional tasks include inventory control, stocking shelves, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and following all regulatory and company policies. Qualifications
Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to support diverse customers in a professional and respectful manner. Attention to detail and organizational skills for handling prescriptions, records, and inventory accurately. Basic math and computer skills to process transactions, insurance claims, and data entry in pharmacy systems. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment and follow direction from licensed pharmacists. High school diploma or equivalent; previous pharmacy, retail, or healthcare experience is an asset. Willingness to learn pharmacy procedures, regulations, and privacy requirements; pharmacy assistant certification or training is considered an advantage. Reliability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
