Job Description

What will you do?

  • Web Application Development: Design and build full-stack web applications using Dash and Python, creating reusable, scalable, and maintainable solutions for enterprise data needs
  • Backend Data Processing: Develop robust Python backend services using Pandas and other libraries to handle complex data transformations, pipelines, and business logic
  • Interactive UI/UX Development: Create intuitive, responsive web interfaces that enable business stakeholders to interact with data intuitively and derive actionable insights
  • Software Engineering Best Practices: Write clean, well-tested, documented code; implement version control, code reviews, and deployment pipelines for production applications
  • AI/ML Integration: Integrate AI/ML models into production web applications, ensuring scalability and performance
  • Collaboration & Iteration: Work with business stakeholders, product managers, and fellow developers to refine requirements, iterate on features, and deliver high-quality solutions that solve real operational challenges

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Currently enrolled in a third-year or higher Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related program at a top-tier Canadian university
  • Minimum 8 months of completed co-op or internship experience in software development, web development, or data engineering (recent experience preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in Python with demonstrated experience building production applications
  • Advanced experience with Pandas for data manipulation and transformation
  • Solid understanding of web application architecture and design principles
  • Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
  • Strong curiosity and passion for data—you ask questions, explore data patterns, and care about data quality and insights
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and a commitment to clean, maintainable code
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a development team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly

Nice-to-have

  • Hands-on experience building web applications with Dash or similar frameworks (Flask, Django)
  • Experience with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/React)
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, etc.)
  • Understanding of software testing, unit testing, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows
  • Knowledge of data warehouse concepts, data architecture, or enterprise data systems
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or containerization (Docker)
  • Experience with agile development practices

Please note: This posting is for a 8-months Winter 2027 Student placement with a start date of January 2027, and end date of August 2027. In order to be eligible for this 8-months Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of August 2027 ;
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in August 2027), you must require the full 8-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
