What you will do:
The reliability engineer’s (RE) main purpose is to ensure a Litens’ design is validated for a customer application.
To achieve this purpose their scope of work includes:
- Understanding how the product fails with the intended functions under defined operating conditions for a period of time.
- Utilizing Design For Reliability (DFR) tools to help understand how the design works and identify failure modes and mechanisms.
- Utilizing Accelerated Life Testing (ALT) models and Reliability Prognostics to demonstrate the reliability meets the customer requirements
- Documenting and taking ownership of Validation Plans in the industry standard DVP&R
Main duties/responsibilities
Ensure each product designed has a DVP&R which will confirm and document the Reliability and Robustness. This means the RE has ownership of this document and must ensure the document is completed and the results are acceptable.
Create Reliability Demonstration tests to ensure Litens’ products meet Reliability targets or criteria. The RE must utilize Reliability Engineering principals and tools to define these tests.
Create the Design For Reliability (DFR) documents the help understand how the product functions and fails. The documents also help the RE to identify the operating conditions and life targets set by the customer and the application.
Identify the New and Unknown parts of the design at the component level and interface level to help prioritize the higher risk potential failures for testing. These should be noted on the DFR documents where appropriate
Review Customer requirements for each design to help create Reliability and Robustness tests to meet those requirements from a Reliability standpoint. Include these reliability requirements in the DFR documents.
Supports the creation and maintenance of Global Test Specifications (GTS) for Litens’ products.
Participate in the Reliability Engineering Team development of the Platform DVP&R for Litens’ products.
Participate in the Reliability Engineering Team development of the database for documenting failure mechanisms and historical corrective actions (FRACAS).
What you will bring:
- Knowledge of the tools used in the field of Reliability Engineering including; SOR reviews, Risk Analysis, Parameter Diagrams, Boundary Diagrams, Interface Analysis, Noise Factor Matrix, DVP&R, DOE, ALT, HALT, HASS, Statistical Analysis (Weibull, Normal, Log-Normal,), Key Life Testing
- Working knowledge of TS16949, APQP procedures, Reliability Engineering, Blueprint Reading, Advanced Measuring Techniques, Computer Literate
- Ability to review and critique 3D CAD models, as well as 2D detailed engineering prints for conformance to Design Statement of Requirements
- Ability to develop Parameter Diagrams, Boundary Diagrams, Interface Analysis, Noise Factor Matrix, FTA, DFMEA and DVP&R
- Ability to prepare and conduct technical presentations on PowerPoint
- Ability to discuss, direct and participate in technical discussions surrounding Reliability and Robustness of Product Design
- Familiarization with customers’ systems and methodologies in Reliability Methods would be an asset
- Experience and/or knowledge in
