Job Description: The Psychologist is a member of the Seniors' Health & Continuing Care Team. Reporting to the manager of Seniors' Health and Continuing Care (SHCC), this position provides clinical and consultative services for individuals with responsive/protective behaviours due to their diagnosis or environment. Strategies/recommendations may support the individuals, their family, and professional and non- professional team members. Responsibilities may include completing clinical assessments, making recommendations, and care planning to develop a problem-solving approach to understanding behaviour symptoms/triggers for team members. This may include developing mechanisms/strategies to effectively manage the behaviours, support the implementation/evaluate of programs available for these individuals and participate in planning/developing services/programs to meet current and future needs. Formal education, clinical in-services, support and ongoing follow up may be required. All services in the Seniors' Health and Continuing Care portfolio are developed within a client centered/ resident directed framework, with individuals experience being paramount in decision making.
