Troy is a 2025 and 2026 winner of the Canada's Best Managed Companies program Troy Life & Fire Safety Ltd. is looking for an enthusiastic Sprinkler Systems Designer to join our Edmonton, AB teamThe successful candidate will assist in producing drawings on a variety of buildings including commercial, residential, industrial and healthcare facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Design, calculate and stock list fire sprinkler projects in a construction environment.
- Work with a team of fire protection designers, reporting directly to the design team leader.
- Liaise between management, estimating, design, fabrication, installation, and project management as a valuable team member resulting in increased profitability.
- Assist in continuing and maintaining company best practices in coordination with national fire protection design team.
- Verify that all deliverables meet NFPA standards and local ordinance.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Post‑secondary education in Fire Protection Engineering & Technology, Mechanical Design or equivalent.
- Knowledge of design layout, hydraulic calculations, stock listing and project management would be an asset.
- NICET certification and/or have the ability to become certified.
- Experience working with AutoCAD, Revit, and hydraulic calculations.
- Experience with HydraCAD is an asset.
