Help nurture young minds as a Child and Youth Care Practitioner at South Shore Regional Centre for Education. This engaging role addresses the social and emotional needs of students in a school setting. In this term position, you'll work collaboratively with teachers and families to create an inclusive and supportive environment for students facing challenges. Implementing culturally responsive pedagogy, your focus will be on fostering successful connections between the school, students, and their communities. Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teams to design supportive programs
- Establish trusting relationships with at-risk youth
- Implement strategies for positive behavior reinforcement
- Document student progress and interventions
- Engage parents and community resources for student success
- Child & Youth Care diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years’ experience with youth
- First Aid and CPR certifications required
- Valid driver's license for student transport
- Preferred experience in educational roles
