The Senior Director, Procurement is responsible for defining and executing Distech Controls’ global procurement strategy to support business growth, product innovation, cost competitiveness, and supply chain resilience.
Reporting to the Vice President, Operations, this role leads Distech’s global Procurement organization across all regions and product categories. The Senior Director is responsible for strategic sourcing, category management, supplier and contract manufacturing strategies, lifecycle risk management, procurement digitalization, and procurement support for both new product development and sustaining engineering initiatives.
As a member of the Operations Leadership Team, this leader will strengthen Procurement’s role as a strategic business partner, build organizational capability, and develop the processes, systems, and supplier ecosystem required to support Distech’s long-term growth objectives.
Procurement Strategy & Supplier Network Leadership
Define and execute global procurement and category management strategies across direct and indirect spend categories.
Lead supplier selection, commercial negotiations, contract manufacturing strategies, and build-buy-partner decision frameworks.
Develop procurement strategies that balance cost competitiveness, innovation, quality, and supply chain resilience.
Manage and optimize Distech’s network of strategic suppliers, contract manufacturers, technology partners, and other critical external providers.
Partner with Acuity and other business units to leverage enterprise capabilities, procurement expertise, supplier relationships, and purchasing scale.
Provide strategic oversight and governance for indirect procurement activities and policies.
Business Performance & Value Creation
Influence gross margin performance through supplier strategies, contract manufacturing optimization, value engineering initiatives, and market intelligence.
Supply Chain Resilience & Lifecycle Management
Establish and lead Distech’s lifecycle risk management strategy for components, suppliers, and products.
Develop proactive approaches to obsolescence management, supply continuity, supplier concentration, capacity constraints, and geopolitical risks.
Strengthen supply chain resilience through risk mitigation, dual sourcing strategies, supplier diversification, and business continuity planning.
Develop procurement analytics and market intelligence capabilities to improve visibility, risk identification, and decision-making.
Product Development & Digital Transformation
Ensure procurement considerations are incorporated early in the product development process, including supplier capabilities, lifecycle risks, manufacturability, and total cost.
Lead Procurement’s participation in ERP, PLM, Source-to-Pay, and other business transformation initiatives.
Strengthen procurement analytics, data governance, and digital capabilities across the organization.
Lead and develop a high-performing global Procurement organization.
Build organizational capability, succession depth, and future leadership pipelines.
Position Procurement as a trusted strategic partner across Engineering, Product Management, Operations, Finance, Quality, and IT.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
~15+ years of progressive leadership experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management.
~ Deep understanding of electronic components, PCBAs, contract manufacturing, global supply markets, and supplier network strategies.
