Part-time, Hamilton, Remote: hybrid/flexible
$10,500 ($2100/month)

VFL is an arts collective dedicated to exploring haptic technologies to create accessible arts experiences for Deaf and disability communities.

The Position
VibraFusionLab is currently looking to expand its team, during a period of organizational restructuring. We want to better meet the expanding demand for our work and run operations more efficiently.
VibraFusionLab is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant to support the effective administration and delivery of the collective’s programs and operations, including a pilot training program in November and artist residencies in Hamilton.
Working closely with the current Strategic Consultant as well as the Founder, the Admin Assistant will assist with accessibility services, grant administration, budget management, collaborator logistics, website and social media and other administrative processes that support VFL’s work.
This is a hands-on coordination and administration role. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, keeping systems organized, following through on deadlines and identifying practical ways to improve administrative processes.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, solutions-focused and collaborative. They are comfortable coordinating multiple moving pieces and communicating with colleagues as well as external stakeholders. They have strong administrative and communication skills, and function effectively in virtual environments with a small team. They are self-motivated, take initiative and interested in supporting programs that strengthen the capacity and resilience of VibraFusionLab and the wider Deaf and disability arts and culture sector. They have strong connection and relation to the Deaf and disability communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate accessibility needs for participants
  • Communicate with artists and incoming requests for collaboration
  • Document the pilot training program and residencies
  • Update the website and social media accounts
  • Help manage organizational activity calender
  • Must be able to come to Hamilton Tuesdays and Thursdays in November and twice a month between Dec and March
  • Book travel and accommodations for visiting artists
  • Help maintain relationships and partnerships new and old

Pay
$10, 500

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong organizational, administrative, and research skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, events, and deadlines
  • Experience supporting programs, events, or community engagement initiatives
  • Comfort with Zoom and virtual event coordination
  • Familiarity with Google Drive, or similar databases and organizational tools
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to take initiative
  • Knowledge of the Canadian arts and culture sector
  • Have a strong connection to Deaf and disability communities
