Hiring Unit: Department of Biology (Professor Andrew Gonzalez) Position Summary Develops the BON in a Box pipeline engine web application using React, Kotlin, HTML and CSS. Performs integrated tests of the developed features, and of possible side-effects. Performs code peer-reviews, including testing. Collaborates with the BON in a Box team and the GEO BONsecretariat. Tracks tasks with GitHub issues. Participates to release cycle: the work will happen in short iterative cycles where the tasks are explained, planned, implemented & tested, reviewed, and adjusted. All these are done in collaboration. Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities Able to work in a team. Capacity to navigate large code bases. Good time management skills. Programming: React, Kotlin. Python and R an asset. Web: HTML & CSS. Education/Experience Enrolled as a student in software engineering or computer science. Web development experience (including projects, contests and internships). Location This position is located in Montreal, Quebec and the work for this position is expected to be performed in Quebec. Knowledge of French and English McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level # (2) qualifier on a scale of 0-4.
