Job Title: Data Science Developer - Senior

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Client: Public Sector

Duration: 6+ Months Contract (Possibility for Extension)

Required Experience and Skills

  • Strong experience in data science, data analytics, data engineering, or a related quantitative field, preferably within a healthcare or public-sector environment.
  • Proven experience analyzing requirements, developing analytics solutions, designing reports, and supporting real-world healthcare data and reporting use cases.
  • Hands-on experience working with large health system and administrative databases , including linking datasets and building analytical cohorts.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis, transformation, scripting, data validation, and analytics development.
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based data analytics models, data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting solutions .
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure for cloud-based data analytics and data engineering.
  • Strong experience with Power BI for developing dashboards, reports, data visualization, and communicating analytical insights.
  • Experience developing and maintaining data pipelines and analytics products supporting clinical reporting and healthcare data initiatives.
  • Experience analyzing complex technical issues, identifying alternatives, and recommending effective data and analytics solutions.
  • Experience collaborating with technical teams, project stakeholders, and clinical partners to implement analytics products and resolve operational issues.
  • Experience creating technical documentation, guidelines, best practices, and conducting knowledge-transfer sessions for technical teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts and analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience

  • Experience with health data linkage , administrative healthcare datasets, and analytical cohort development.
  • Familiarity with Mental Health & Addictions data , clinical concepts, and related healthcare reporting requirements.
  • Understanding of PHIPA , health data privacy, governance, and data protection requirements.
  • Experience working within public-sector, government, provincial health authority, or Ontario Health environments .
  • Experience supporting Provincial Data Set (PDS) 2.0 or similar provincial healthcare data/reporting initiatives.
  • Experience developing cloud-based data models, pipelines, and analytics products using Azure services.
  • Experience with data quality, validation, reconciliation, and analytical reporting.
  • Experience working in product-team delivery environments and collaborating across multiple project streams.
  • Experience preparing and delivering technical demonstrations, walkthroughs, and knowledge-transfer sessions.
  • Experience with healthcare clinical reporting, particularly Mental Health & Addictions clinical priorities .
