Engineering Designer
to add to the existing skills of our Engineering team. This is a great opportunity to become part of an experienced and professional team of technical people who collectively strive to provide an exceptional level of design expertise to our customers. The successful candidate(s) will be working as a member of the assigned Product Engineering Team in one of our facilities and will be given the opportunity to gain valuable experience, knowledge and exposure in the design, manufacturing, and support of our products. Our Electrical Designers are responsible for the creation and ongoing improvement of our DC, AC, PLC programming and other related systems for mobile machines for the underground hard-rock mining industry. 380VAC to 1000VAC high voltage, 5VDC to 24VDC and 4-20mA control systems, PLC program control systems, line of sight and tele-remote systems, panel design, HMI design etc) and the ability to integrate many different pieces of technology and products to reach the best possible product. The successful candidate will be able to acquire experience working with a strong and experienced team of mobile equipment designers and other electrical systems specialists.
Intermediate Electrical Designers will be responsible for:
Providing technical leadership across DC, AC, PLC, and related electrical systems, ensuring robust, safe, and compliant designs for underground mobile mining equipment
Acting as a subject matter expert, offering guidance, mentorship, and technical oversight to less experienced designers to support team development and overall design quality
Leading complex design initiatives from concept through production, ensuring alignment with product requirements, applicable standards, regulatory compliance, and best engineering practices
Proactively identifying design risks, system integration challenges, and opportunities for improvement, and driving solutions across multi-disciplinary teams
Managing assigned projects in collaboration with the Product Manager, with accountability for scope, schedule, resource planning, and technical deliverables
Working closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Customer Support to resolve issues, support builds, and implement effective Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)
Reviewing and approving designs, documentation, bills of materials, and test/inspection criteria to ensure accuracy, consistency, and readiness for production
Championing continuous improvement initiatives by developing and implementing more efficient design methods, tools, standards, and processes to enhance team productivity and effectiveness
Supporting and reinforcing the company’s Quality objectives through diligent design practices, root-cause analysis, and corrective action participation

qualifications:
Engineering Diploma or Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution Preferred 5plus years of experience in the design and / or manufacturing of heavy/mobile/construction type equipment Able to use SolidWorks and AutoCAD with preference for those who have certified training completed Computer proficient in MS Office Software (Word, Excel, Project, Sharepoint) Preference to those who can demonstrate an understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, assembly Able to communicate effectively with others both verbally and in writing with preference for those who can do so in more than one language This position can be performed from our Collingwood, Owen Sound, North Bay, Barrie or Sudbury Office.
