Responsabilités du poste

Strong ability to root cause weld defects using welding principles for both robotic laser welding and robotic MIG welding. Works in cooperation with other departments to establish, utilize and improve processes and methods to produce products on the welding cells. Accurately collects, communicates, and analyzes data for production welding processes. Stays up to date with production issues pertaining to welding processes such as cut and etch failures, high scrap due to weld monitoring and low FTQ. Work is directed towards minimizing scrap, improving throughput and ensuring product quality in a safe environment.

Duties and Responsibility

  • Immediate - Open Position Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 (Depending on experience)
  • Stay current on new innovations in the field by reading and engaging in self-study of technical publications.
  • Engage in training on new advancements in the field.
  • Participate in root cause analysis meetings as well as report outs to management
  • Interact with other employees, exchange technical information to facilitate teamwork in the troubleshooting and repair process.
  • Review welding parameters to make sure they are optimal for both the process and the product.
  • Understand and apply GD&T in problem solving.
  • Take part in fixture design reviews and fixture concurrence; provide input to Manufacturing Engineers during SOW development process related to weld fixture and help conduct torch access studies.
  • In charge of closures of all welding related open issues pertaining to Equipment Validation Checklist while supporting Manufacturing Engineers
  • If required perform weld verifications via acid etch.
  • Perform welding experiments to evaluate new equipment, techniques, and materials as required.
  • Reviews Cut and Etch reports and creates improvement action plans
  • Monitors trends using weld health charts.
  • Establish welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel, relating to specification restrictions, material processes and welding of critical joints.
  • Champions CQI-15 open issues for applicable programs.
  • Provide input into the development of preventative maintenance plans.
  • Responsible to protect own health and safety by working in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures.
  • Adhere to all IATF 16949 policies and procedures.
  • Must comply with all ISO 14001 (Environmental) and ISO 45001 (Health and Safety) systems and standards as it pertains to their work.
  • Abide by all AODA and C-TPAT, and TISAX procedures that apply to their position.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Post Secondary College diploma in Welding and Robotics.
  • Minimum of 5 years previous experience in supporting robotic MIG and laser welding in a production environment.
  • Familiar with Fronius and Trumpf for Mig and Laser Welding respectively
  • Understanding of weld parameters for both MIG and laser welding
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with proven record
  • Excellent understanding of robotics and robot capabilities.
  • Hands on ability to set-up, de-bug and program robots for welding applications.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Understand GD&T and stack up analysis.
  • Understand and apply weld metallurgy to solve problems
  • Must be familiar with stamping attributes and how they affect welding.
  • Must be familiar with welding tooling fixtures
