Truck Driver
As a Truck Driver, you will be part of the team that provides local delivery services to the Irving Shipyards and vendors, including picking orders and forklift operations. You will drive a box truck, curtain side truck, and tractor with a 47' trailer on a rotational basis. You will be responsible for monitoring truck maintenance and keeping driver's records requirements such as daily check‑lists.
Working Hours
Monday – Friday with opportunities for overtime.
Responsibilities
- Deliver materials to Irving ship building sites and local vendor warehouses safely
- Load/unload products
- Prepare trucks for loading and assist the warehouse staff as required
- Ensure proper vehicle maintenance and safety
- Maintain communication with your supervisor and resolve issues on the go
- Verify load security and accuracy
- Report defects, violations, accidents, or injuries
- Maintain professional behaviour
- Follow all safety regulations, company policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Proven work experience as a delivery driver
- Valid Class 1 License with manual and automatic transmission
- Driver's abstract required – will reimburse upon hire
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, fast‑paced and dynamic workplace
- Self‑motivated, punctual, and reliable
- Must have safety mindset
- High attention to detail
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Able to do physical work
- All employees of Bayside Distribution must obtain and maintain a personal security clearance and controlled goods approval. To obtain these clearances the applicant must not have resided outside of Canada for a period of six months or more within the last five years. These clearances require police, employment and personal references.
