Trindent Consulting is a global management consulting firm specializing in technical augmentation in the energy sector, specifically downstream Oil & Gas. Trindent is recruiting across Canada for Consultant and Senior Consultant positions focused on refinery improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement sustainable processes and systems to increase refinery margins by 2‑3% without the need for capital investment.
  • Deliver performance improvements of tens of millions of dollars within 6‑8 months through data analytics, industry knowledge, and technical expertise.
  • Conduct assessment, engagement, and audit phases of improvement engagements at refinery clients.
  • Analyze refinery operations to identify optimization opportunities and develop actionable improvement plans.
  • Prepare and present findings, dashboards, and recommendations to client leadership and operational teams.
  • Travel to refinery client sites frequently, with most work performed onsite.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Petrochemicals, or a related field.
  • 3‑25+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry managing or improving plant energy efficiency, process plant optimization, and gasoline blending.
  • Expertise in process plant optimization methodologies, Energy Intensity Index (EII), Linear Programming, feedstock selection, product mix optimization, sensitivity analyses, unit mass balance programs, preventative maintenance, or continuous improvement.
  • Working knowledge of tools such as Aveva PROII, Aspen HYSYS, SagePlus, and similar.
  • Advanced proficiency in data mining and data analysis using Excel.
  • Experience with process analysis, data scrubbing, MOS critiques, dashboard development, behavioral assessments, area profiles, audits, KPI grids, and RACI charts is considered an asset.
  • Ability to travel extensively to refinery client sites for onsite engagement.
