Design and support XR learning experiences at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario, using immersive technologies, artificial intelligence, and technical troubleshooting skills.
This full-time, in-person Immersive Technology Specialist supports immersive technology integration across academic, research, and learning environments. The position collaborates with faculty, researchers, instructional designers, Information Technology Services, and industry partners. Work includes XR application development, digital asset creation, equipment management, user training, and pilot coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop in-house immersive technology experiences with internal teams
- Create, modify, or source digital assets for XR experiences
- Configure, troubleshoot, and manage equipment across multiple campuses
- Deliver demonstrations, training sessions, orientations, and workshops
- Track devices and maintain cleaning and disinfection protocols
Requirements:
- Three-year diploma or degree in a related field
- Three years of programming, game development, or immersive technology experience
- Experience integrating immersive technologies in educational or research environments
- Advanced understanding of immersive technologies and practical applications
- Proficient communication, active listening, time, and conflict management skills
