Senior Business Systems Analyst - Wealth Management & SQL
Location: Toronto, ON
Work Model: Hybrid - 4 days onsite/week
Role Summary
Seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to support the modernization of a portfolio management platform. The role will lead functional analysis, requirements, system/data analysis, integration design, and collaboration with business and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead functional analysis, requirements gathering, and solution design.
- Create functional specifications, user stories, use cases, data mappings, and system flows.
- Perform hands-on SQL/data analysis and reconciliation.
- Analyze APIs, batch processing, event-driven flows, and system integrations.
- Analyze legacy systems and define modernization/future-state solutions.
- Trace end-to-end data across upstream, processing, and downstream systems.
- Support production issue analysis and RCA.
- Use AI-assisted tools for analysis, requirements, and documentation.
- Partner with business, architecture, data, and engineering teams.
Required Skills
- 5+ years as a BSA, Technical Business Analyst, or Systems Analyst.
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills.
- Strong experience with functional specifications, data mappings, and system flows.
- Experience with APIs, batch processing, and system integrations.
- Experience with system modernization/transformation.
- Wealth Management / Capital Markets experience.
- Understanding of positions, transactions, valuations, and performance.
- Strong communication and ability to work across complex enterprise systems.
Nice to Have
Agile / Waterfall experience.
