About Us
WalkDogs.ca is a professional dog walking and pet care company serving Toronto's west end. We're insured, certified, and vetted — the alternative to gig apps. We're expanding eastward along the Queen West corridor and need someone to make sure the neighbourhoods we're moving into actually know we exist. The Engagement We're looking for an independent marketing contractor to handle neighbourhood-level promotion and social media. This is a deliverables-based engagement: we care about what gets produced and where it lands, not when or how you do it. You set your own schedule and work with your own equipment. Deliverables Each month, the contractor will deliver: Neighbourhood presence Postering and flyer distribution across agreed target neighbourhoods — poles, cafés, pet supply stores, vet clinics, condo boards, community boards Coverage reports with locations and photo confirmation Identify and propose new placement opportunities as we expand into King West and Liberty Village Social media Approximately 12–16 posts per month across Instagram and Facebook Source and shoot content on walks (with our walkers, and only with client consent for their dogs) Community engagement: comments, local pet groups, neighbourhood pages Monthly summary of reach, follows, and inbound inquiries General marketing support Maintain our Google Business Profile — posts, photos, review responses Local partnership outreach (groomers, vets, pet stores, condo concierges) Support seasonal promotions and new service area launches Recommend where the marketing spend should go next What We're Looking For Demonstrated social media work — send us accounts you've actually run Comfortable doing physical, on-the-ground promotion in West Toronto neighbourhoods Decent phone photography and an eye for dogs that photograph well Writes in plain, warm, non-corporate English Familiar with the west end and how these neighbourhoods differ from each other Provides own phone, camera, computer, and transportation Genuinely likes dogs Terms of Engagement This is an independent contractor engagement, not employment: The contractor sets their own hours and methods and is engaged for results, not for time worked The contractor supplies their own tools, equipment, and transportation The contractor is free to provide services to other clients, excluding direct competitors in pet care services within our service area The contractor is responsible for their own income tax, CPP, and any applicable HST registration and remittance; no source deductions will be made The contractor invoices WalkDogs.ca Inc. monthly; printing and material costs are reimbursed at cost with receipts, pre-approved above. All marketing materials, photography, and content produced under this engagement are the property of WalkDogs.ca Inc. Client information encountered during the engagement is confidential. Photography of client dogs requires documented owner consent Any email or SMS marketing must comply with CASL — express or valid implied consent, sender identification, and a working unsubscribe on every message To apply: Send links to social accounts you've managed, a short note on how you'd introduce a dog walking company to a neighbourhood that's never heard of it, and your availability.
