Physics Subject Matter Expert (AI Training)
About The Role
We're looking for physics experts to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI models. Your deep understanding of physics will directly shape how AI reasons through complex scientific problems — from undergraduate fundamentals to advanced graduate-level topics. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. You choose your hours, work from anywhere, and contribute to some of the most impactful AI research happening today. Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
Design challenging, rigorous physics problems spanning mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, and more Develop clear, step-by-step solutions that demonstrate structured physical reasoning Evaluate AI-generated responses for scientific accuracy, logical consistency, and solution quality Collaborate with researchers to build and refine benchmarks across undergraduate to Masters-level physics topics Provide structured written feedback that helps improve AI reasoning capabilities Who You Are Currently pursuing or have completed a Masters degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or a closely related field Strong problem-solving skills across multiple domains of advanced physics Able to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and precisely in writing Detail-oriented with a systematic approach to evaluating reasoning quality Self-motivated and comfortable working independently and asynchronously No prior AI experience required Nice to Have Experience with data annotation, quality evaluation, or academic assessment Familiarity with AI or machine learning concepts Background in writing physics problems for educational or competitive contexts Why Join Us Work directly with industry-leading AI labs on cutting-edge research Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule, from anywhere Freelance perks: high autonomy, variety, and global collaboration Make a real impact on how AI understands and reasons through physics Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
