About the Role
We are looking for an electronics technician to bridge engineering and production. You will build prototypes, produce assembly documentation, and drive the transfer of new products into manufacturing. This is a hands-on role, in the shop and in the lab, working directly with designers and subcontractors.
Responsibilities:
New Product Introduction (NPI)
· Take part in transferring new products from engineering to production
· Build and document prototypes; log issues and propose corrective actions;
· Perform precision hand soldering, including SMT components
· Produce assembly drawings, exploded views, and bills of materials (BOM); process ECOs/ECNs
· Document wiring, harnesses, and sub-assemblies
· Run functional tests, debug, and repair boards down to the component level
· Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testability (DFT) with the design team
· Design and build test fixtures and assembly jigs
Qualifications:
· DEC in electrical engineering technology, industrial electronics, or equivalent training
· 2 to 5 years of experience in electronics, ideally in a manufacturing or product development environment
· Strong hand soldering skills, including fine-pitch SMT (0402, QFN, and similar packages)
· Comfortable reading electronic schematics, mechanical drawings, and bills of materials
· Comfortable with basic instrumentation: multimeter, oscilloscope, bench power supply
· Disciplined about documentation, with strong attention to detail
· Working French; enough English to read and write technical documentation
