Position Overview
APEX is currently accepting applications for a Special Processing Hand to join our Aerospace Component Manufacturing Group. This is a full-time position reporting to the Special Processing Supervisor. The primary responsibilities of this position is to organize, coordinate production, and assume any duties needed to support the production schedules such as; operating machines, performing pretreatments, masking and racking of parts.
Responsibilities
Coordinate the work to be completed as directed by the Supervisor
Develop and implement plans to efficiently use materials, labor and equipment to meet production and quality targets as described with a high level of quality
Maintain inventory of raw materials and finished products
Perform maintenance as required
Ensure delivery targets are achieved
Perform process finishes, masking and racking of parts
Operate cleaning equipment to clean, wash, strip, sand, abrasive blast, or otherwise prepare parts
Maintain equipment, ventilation, compressed air and personal protective equipment
Load/Unload customer and/or supplier products
Perform other material handling activities such as operating a pallet jack and other devices to load and unload products
May perform other activities, such as opening containers and crates, assisting in inventory control, weighing and verifying products.
Control of shelf-life sensitive items
Safe use of personal protective gear as directed by the safety committee and/or Supervisor
Requirements
Minimum grade 12 or GED.
Demonstrate ability to function in a team-based work environment
Ability to use lessons learnt as well as new requirements
Self-motivated and the willingness to stick to tasks that may be repetitive in nature
Strong attention to detail and to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Become familiar with Customer, AS 9100 & NADCAP requirements
Able to comprehend and effectively carry out oral and written instructions
