OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN (OPTICIAN OR SCIENCE GRADUATE) | Temporary Mandate

You are eligible to receive a quarterly bonus.
You have a temporary full-time position (contract of approximately 18 months and 32 hrs/week). Please note that weekly hours are based on operational needs, may vary, and are not guaranteed.

Your tasks at a glance
You complete preoperative and postoperative measurements, offering clear explanations to patients throughout the process.
You review imaging maps to validate their accuracy.
You are knowledgeable about procedures and technologies available in the clinic.
You provide outstanding customer service and patient care.
You support the organization’s Risk Management program by identifying and promptly reporting patient safety concerns, incidents, or potential risks to clinic management, to assist in the organization’s overall efforts to identify, report, and mitigate risks.
A clear view of your assets
You are a graduate of a Bachelor's program in science (Bsc), an Opticianry program (license not required), a Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT), or a Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT).
You are comfortable with computers, technology, and Microsoft 365 (knowledge of EMR systems is an asset).
You are motivated to learn how to use various diagnostic and testing tools.
You have excellent communication skills in English.
Your experience in an eye-care environment is an asset.
Schedule: You have flexible availability on Monday to Thursday, hours vary based on surgery schedule.
Required flexibility: You have flexibility to be scheduled between our LASIK MD Calgary location & our TLC Laser Eye Centres Calgary location.
