Your Opportunity at SECURE Summer positions will run May-August 2027. Co-op and Internship positions may extend beyond the summer term depending on the requirements of the academic program and the business. These terms may be 4, 8, 12, or 16 months in length. To be eligible for the SECURE Student program, you must: Be enrolled in a post-secondary institution and available for the duration of the program. Be enrolled in a recognized internship program through an accredited post-secondary institution. Be legally entitled to work in Canada by way of Canadian Citizenship, Permanent residency, or a valid work permit. Complete a Medical and/or Alcohol and Drug test if the role is considered safety-sensitive.

Your Opportunity at SECURE As our Project Coordinator Intern, you will support the Project Management team with the coordination and execution of smaller engineering, maintenance, optimization, and Management of Change (MOC) projects initiated by our Operations team.
Projects may involve tanks, instrumentation, registered vessels, process piping, pipelines, pumps, process optimization, and other site improvements. The intern will be responsible for completing clearly defined tasks and simple projects under the guidance of Project Managers and other experienced team members. This role is based in Calgary, Alberta. The Team The Technical Services team at SECURE delivers expert solutions to improve operations, boost performance, and drive innovation. Specializing in safe, efficient infrastructure projects and managing well health, geology, and project execution, the team is committed to quality, sustainability, and operational excellence while fostering a culture of safety, knowledge sharing, and reliable results. Work Environment This is a full-time internship position based in Calgary, Alberta, structured as a 12-16-month fixed-term contract beginning in May 2027. You will work in a collaborative technical environment alongside Asset Integrity, Preventative Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams. The role combines office-based project work with occasional field visits to SECURE facilities which will include coordination and execution of smaller engineering, maintenance, optimization, and Management of Change (MOC) projects initiated by our Operations team This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of assets across SECURE's network A Day in The Life
• Support Project Managers with the planning and execution of small sustaining, optimization, and MOC projects.
• Assist with developing project scopes, budgets, schedules, estimates, and approval documents.
• Coordinate with Operations, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain project trackers, files, drawings, specifications, cost records, and correspondence.
• Track milestones, budgets, risks, deficiencies, and action items.
• Prepare meeting minutes, status updates, and project documentation.
• Support safety, regulatory, MOC, turnover, and closeout requirements.
• Complete simple projects and assigned tasks under the guidance of a Project Manager
• Travel Requirements ~5% field time, with travel across AB, BC, SK, and North Dakota. Skills, Experience & Qualifications
• Third year Engineering to be completed at the start of the internship.
• Strong organizational, communication, writing, and time-management skills.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to organize information, maintain accurate records, and track project activities.
• Willingness to learn, ask questions, and work collaboratively with Operations, Project Management, contractors, and vendors.
• Ability to work independently on clearly defined tasks and meet deadlines.
• Previous experience in Oil & Gas, industrial construction, maintenance, field operations, or project coordination is an asset.
• Familiarity with project management software, SharePoint, drawings, technical specifications, or process equipment is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field locations is an asset.
