The Opportunity
Alberta University of the Arts (AUArts) invites applications for Sessional Instructors to teach credit courses in upcoming semesters. Applications are welcome for all areas, and applicants are encouraged to review the AUArts website and calendar for offerings.
In particular, we invite applications for the following subject areas:
Photography
Drawing
BCI (Bachelor of Creative Industries)
Sessional appointments are intended to augment and supplement instruction and programming and/or the pedagogical and/or research needs of the University beyond that which is provided by permanent faculty appointments.
Workload includes course planning and delivery, and completion of student assessments and grades submission and may include a period prior and subsequent to the commencement and completion of classes. This period shall begin the first day of term and shall not end later than the final day of the last month in the term.
Qualifications:
A terminal degree Demonstrated experience teaching at the post-secondary level Evidence of a substantial professional and/or research practice, including publishing, exhibition, or other forms of peer-reviewed distribution Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom and in all aspects of academic life. Compensation The amount of renumeration per credit course assigned is in accordance with the AUArts Faculty Association (AUAFA) Collective Agreement under Salary Schedule B for Sessional Instructors.
