Job Summary:   The Mechanical Designer Level 1 is responsible for producing high-quality work, ensuring compliance with design standards, and meeting work deadlines.  This role involves creating comprehensive project drawing sets for proposals and submittals, creating 3D models upon request, assisting in preparing “as-builts” for installation and operations manuals and assisting Mechanical Designer Levels 2 and 3.  The Mechanical Designer Level 1 typically works on smaller projects and receives frequent instruction and direction from the Mechanical Proposal and Submittal Team Lead.     Job Duties &

Responsibilities:
Review project documents, emails, and scope of work to help create accurate project drawings Assist in developing project drawing sets for proposals Assist in developing project drawing sets for submittals Assist in updating the project “Weights” spreadsheet Assist in creating 3D models and drawing sets for customers Assist mechanical designers levels 2 and 3 when directed Provide technical assistance to Mechanical Designers (Level 2) and collaborate as needed on design tasks. Support internal design team members Assist in preparing “as-builts” for installation and operations manuals Assist in any other related tasks Assist in developing pricing activities by producing BOMs, Inches of weld   Job

Qualifications:
Mechanical Engineering Technologist (3-year college diploma) Mechanical design experience, preferably within HVAC, is an asset Proficient in Solid Works, AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, EPDM Friendly personality, respectful of co-workers, and able to work with individuals as part of a team Able to multitask and work efficiently in a demanding environment Motivated self-starter with high level of initiative and able to work independently Problem solving, organizational, and time management skills Able to take directions and communicate with others Able to attend work regularly Able to meet the physical and sensory demands of the position Willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally Understands the basics of mechanical single lines and is able to interpret them   Core Competencies:   Communication Teamwork Attention to Detail Critical thinking/problem solving   Contacts:   Internal engineering and shop staff and contractors to exchange information, answer questions, and solve problems.   Effort (Physical & Sensory):   Sitting and using computers for 8-10 hours per day Regular standing, walking, sitting, use of fine motor skills Occasional light lifting Regular vision/sensory demands: close, distance, peripheral, depth, and ability to adjust focus.   Working
