Join BBA and make the most of your experience by actively contributing to the various stages of Electrical Discipline. We are currently seeking an Electrical Designer Lead to join our Corporate Electrical & Automation team to support and lead our expansion in Ontario.
This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic
growing team. Your
role will be to participate in the day-to-day delivery of engineering services,
from front-end studies to assisting with commissioning. You will be responsible
for delivering high-quality professional services, maintaining good working
relationships with clients, and providing mentorship and technical support to your co-workers.
With us you’ll get the opportunity to:
- Provide engineering services and consulting work, either in a team or individually with support
- Design and read 1-line, schematic, wiring and layouts drawings
- Design and draft high voltage substations up to 500 kV
- Be part of teams designing renewable power facilities (wind, solar, BESS)
- Effectively use AutoCAD to create and edit electrical drawings
- Prepare technical documents, calculation notes and specifications
- Apply established working methods and make sure they are improved upon
- Take part in project management activities (costs, deadlines)
- Take part in coordination meetings, both internally and with clients
- Carry out site surveys
- Take part in commissioning equipment at client sites, locally and abroad

Overview of certifications and job requirements:
- Diploma in Electrical Technology (able to be registered or currently registered with OACETT)
- Minimum 5 years of drafting experience in utility or consulting engineering enviornments
- Minimum of 5 years of experience designing HV substations and protection & control
- Strong knowledge of electrical drawings (schematic, wiring and layout)
- Hold a valid Ontario driver’s licence
- Asset: working knowledge of 3D drafting
