JOB DESCRIPTION
The Dispensing Team Leader is a proactive and results-driven leader responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the dispensing department. Working closely with the Color Manufacturing Supervisor, this role ensures production priorities are achieved, operational challenges are resolved promptly, and communication flows seamlessly between staff and management. The Team Leader provides hands-on direction, promotes a safe and productive work environment, and drives continuous improvement while maintaining quality standards. DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure team compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards. Identify production issues, correct where possible, and communicate promptly to Supervisors and the Color Manufacturing Manager. Provide hands-on direction for all production activities and support staff in achieving daily goals. Maintain production priorities as directed by Supervisors and administrative staff, following both verbal and written instructions. Collaborate with staff to identify inefficiencies, training needs, and areas for procedural improvement. Monitor daily production outputs, assess team capabilities, and make informed operational decisions. Communicate production updates and challenges with Supervisors/Managers on a regular basis. Work with higher management to resolve employee conflicts quickly and effectively. Ensure all employees receive appropriate training, development, and guidance. Attend and actively participate in daily huddles to align team goals and priorities. Perform other departmental duties and support various positions as needed to maintain workflow. Promote and implement continuous improvement initiatives through approved procedures and standards. SKILLS REQUIRED: Strong understanding of dispensing operations, production processes, and departmental workflows. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. General mechanical aptitude (asset). Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, train, and motivate employees. Effective conflict resolution and team management capabilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Time management skills with a strong focus on efficiency and output. Reliability, consistent attendance, and commitment to team success. EDUCATION, TRAINING, and
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent. Previous experience in a dispensing, manufacturing, or production environment is preferred. Experience or knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and safety practices is an advantage.
