Payband: H

Salary Range: $38.09 - $44.04

Starting Salary: $38.09; Progression through the payband is in accordance with the increments in the payband as outline in the Full-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement based on actual service in the payband.

About the Work Integrated Learning Officer Role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, Work Integrated Learning (WIL), the Work Integrated Learning Officer is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, implementing, and maintaining work-integrated learning opportunities for students within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, with a primary focus on the School of Nursing.

The WIL Officer serves as a key liaison between students, faculty, program coordinators, healthcare organizations, community partners, and employers to ensure high-quality experiential learning opportunities that meet curricular requirements and support student success. The incumbent develops and sustains strategic partnerships, facilitates placement processes, monitors student experiences, and contributes to the ongoing enhancement of internship and placement programs.

Key Responsibilities
Work-Integrated Learning and Partnership Development

Recruit, develop, and secure internship and placement opportunities for assigned programs.

Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare and community organizations, industry partners, and employers.

Conduct outreach activities to identify and develop new placement opportunities.

Coordinate and monitor affiliation agreements in collaboration with Humber's Legal and Risk Management teams.

Conduct site visits and partner consultations to evaluate placement quality and student learning opportunities.

Assess and approve placements using institutional systems and established program criteria.

Collaborate with faculty and program coordinators to ensure placements align with curriculum outcomes.

Student Support and Placement Coordination

Guide students through placement processes, including eligibility requirements, placement preparation, and experiential learning expectations.

Provide information sessions, classroom presentations, and individual consultations.

Support students in navigating placement-related requirements and institutional procedures.

Monitor student placement experiences and assist with issue resolution in collaboration with program leadership.

Maintain confidentiality and appropriate documentation related to student placements.

Data Management and Reporting

Maintain accurate placement, partnership, and student records utilizing systems such as HSPnet, Knowledge for You (K4Y), Career Connect, Office 365, and other institutional technologies.

Analyze placement and partnership data and prepare reports for academic leadership.

Monitor insurance, WSIB, affiliation agreement, and compliance documentation.

Support continuous improvement initiatives through collection and analysis of stakeholder feed
