Part-Time Educational Assistant

Peace River School Division requires a Part-Time(0.55 f.t.e.) Educational Assistant atMenno Simons Community School. This position will commence as soon as possible and continuing until June 29, 2027. The successful candidate will be working with students from Grades K-12 to support their learning in areas such as Math, Language, Science, and Social Studies.

Menno Simons Community School serves students in gradesK-12 population, comprised of English students and ESL Mennonite students. The school is situated west of Fairview near Cleardale, Alberta, approximately 200 km west of Grande Prairie.

Qualifications

Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent.

Experience and/or training working with student in school setting.

Ability to work with children with varied ages, skills level, needs and abilities

Skills

Willingness to be part of a learning team, take direction and follow programs without direct supervision.

Willingness to attend training and professional development opportunities on individual learning and complex learning needs.

Ability to be flexible to the changing classroom environment and individual child needs

Ability to manage and organize programming and keep records.

Good communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with teachers.

Requirements

Provide an acceptable current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check .

This is a union position under the collective agreement between the CUPE Local 4839 and the Peace River School Division.

Rate of Pay:

$23.27 to $28.86 per hour(dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the CUPE Local 4839 and the Peace River School Division).
